Employer Disability Information Service Appoints New Disability Project Manager

The National Disability Authority along with its consortium partners ISME, IBEC and Chambers Ireland announced that Seònaid Ó Murchadha has joined the organisation to assist in the development and coordinating of the Employer Disability Information service, a resource funded by the National Disability Authority.

Seónaid (pictured alongside Employer Disability Information's Project Co-Ordinator Kevin Kelleher) comes with a wealth of experience having been promoting the employment of people with disabilities for almost 20 years.

A graduate of DCU, Seònaid has many years’ experience assisting Irish employers successfully steer their way towards greater inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace. The National Disability Authority along with its EDI consortium partners, wish Seònaid well in her new role and look forward to working with her in the future.

Commenting on the appointment Dr. Aideen Hartney Head of Policy, Research and Public Affairs at the NDA said “The National Disability Authority is delighted to have Seònaid join the Employer Disability Information initiative as project manager. Seonaid's previous work in Ahead, managing placements and internships for graduates with disabilities among some of Ireland's leading employers, ensures she is ideally placed to drive the continued development of the peer-to-peer support service offered by Employer Disability Information.

She added, “The NDA is pleased to continue funding the pilot initiative as a vital means of supporting employers to recruit and retain people with disabilities as valuable members of the workforce.

ISME, CEO Neil McDonnell said “On behalf of the consortium members, we’re delighted to welcome Seònaid on board. Since its inception, the Employer Disability Information service has become the go-to place for employers who need information or support on the recruitment or retention of employees with disabilities. Given her extensive experience in the area, we look forward to Seònaid taking the service to the next level with employers nationwide.”
