The Park Inn is a busy hotel at Shannon Airport with its focus on recruiting candidates through a fair process which is both ethical and inclusive. They hire people living locally and endeavour to offer opportunities to empower and enhance the lives of those with disabilities. Over the past 7 years the hotel has offered a range of employment opportunities to people with a disability, from work experience to part time and full time work.
One such example, is work experience candidate Sarah O’ Mahoney who works in the hotel 2days a week, in a front of house role, cleaning, hovering, dusting and engaging with guests. This work experience is offered through the employability scheme and a job coach is assigned to assist Sarah.
According to General Manager, Louise O’Hara “Sarah has a warm, loving character and works well with her other team members, they look forward to her coming in. She knows the hotel inside out and is considered a core member of the team, attending all hotel social events”.
