Siobhan Mungovan is a Clerical Officer based in the Planning Department of Clare County Council. She has been employed since June 2006 following her success in an Open Competition for employment as a Clerical Officer. Siobhan has Spina Bifida and is keen to focus on her ability in the workplace, where she carries out a varied role in the planning department including attending to the public at Council HQ.
Carol Hands, Employee Welfare Officer describes Siobhan as a bright, cheerful and positive young lady, who is very keen to be in the workplace and prove that she is no different to any of her co-workers. As an employee, she has proven her ability to carry out her duties in a diligent manner, utilising her hard working ethic and overcoming any struggles that life throws at her.
Recently Siobhan wrote a book titled “Me and my Backbone”, which she launched at the Council premises. She has engaged in many media interviews since her successful book launch and is an inspiration to others.
